GST Registration

The Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a tax on goods and services consumed in India. GST is an indirect tax that has replaced many other indirect taxes in India, such as excise duty, VAT, and services tax. GST has been in force from 1st July, 2017 based on the Goods and Service Tax Act passed by the Indian Parliament on March 29, 2017.
Every product goes through multiple stages along the supply chain, which includes the purchasing of raw materials, manufacturing, sale to the wholesaler, selling to the retailer and then the final sale to the consumer. Interestingly,  GST will be levied on all of these 3 stages.

Once all the documents are collected, the application will be processed and filed. Then immediately the ARN number will be issued.

Verification of GST Application

The GST registration certificate and GSTIN will be issued upon verification of GST application and other mandatory documents by the GST officer. Be aware that no hard copies of the certificate will be issued and the GST registration certificate can be downloaded from the GST Portal.

Documents Required for GST Registration

Proprietorship

As a proof of Identity:

  • PAN Card
  • Address Proof of Proprietor
LLP

As a proof of Identity:

  • PAN Card of LLP
  • LLP Agreement
  • Partners’ names and address proof
Sole proprietorship or Individual

As a proof of Identity:

  • Certificate of Incorporation
  • PAN Card of Company
  • Articles of Association, AOA
  • Memorandum of Association, MOA
  • Resolution signed by board members
  • Identity and address proof of directors
  • Digital Signature

The following can be shown as proof of address of a director:-

  • Passport
  • Voter Identity Card
  • Aadhar Card
  • Ration Card
  • Telephone or Electricity Bill
  • Driving License
  • Bank Account Statement
Q. Can one register a private limited company on their home address?
Yes, the company can be registered at the owner's home address. A copy of the utility bill is required to be submitted.
Q. What are articles of association and memorandum of association?
These documents contain the rules, vision and mission of your organisation, and define, among other things, the exact business and the roles and responsibilities of shareholders and directors.
Q. Do I need to be physically present during this process?
No, new company registration is a fully online process. As all documents are filed electronically, you would not need to be physically present at all. You would need to send us scanned copies of all the required documents & forms.
